When to Contact a Public Adjuster
As early as you can. Bringing us in before the first estimate is final, and before anything is thrown away, gives us the most room to work. If you already have an offer, it’s usually not too late.
If you’re calling from a hotel room or a relative’s spare bed, keep it short. Tell us what happened and where things stand with your insurer.
Bring whatever you have. The policy, the carrier’s letters, photos. If we can’t add value, we’ll say so. On a small loss, or when the offer is already fair, our fee may outweigh what we add.

05 · Timing note
In a declared catastrophic disaster area, California bars public adjusters from soliciting a homeowner until seven calendar days after the loss producing event ends. It doesn’t apply if you call us first. We call back the same business day.
Questions Before You Call
How fast will you call me back?
The same business day. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Pacific. Send the form outside those hours and we call the next business day.
Is the first review free?
Yes. There is no cost or obligation for the initial review.
What should I have ready?
Whatever you have. The policy, the carrier’s letters, photos. You can also send them after the first call.
Do I still talk to my insurer?
You can. Most clients prefer we handle it. California law says it plainly: you have the right to communicate with your insurance company at any time.
What happens after the review?
We tell you whether we can add value, and why. If you hire us, the percentage is set in writing before we start. In California you may cancel within three business days of signing and receiving the contract, or five calendar days if your property is in a declared catastrophic disaster area.
Which office should I call?
The toll free line, (888) 971-2524, or the local number of the office nearest the property. Every number reaches Blue Star Adjusters, and a senior adjuster leads every claim, from the first call to the final settlement.
We represent the insured only.
