Why a new firm
Same Experience. A New Way.
We left a legacy firm to build something leaner, more responsive, and focused only on you, without the bureaucracy that slows claims down.
Michael Rapport was a top producer at one of the nation’s leading public adjusting firms, across hundreds of losses. He left to run claims the way he thought they should run: fewer files, a senior adjuster on each one, and the same person from the first call to the settlement.
That is Blue Star Adjusters. A boutique firm, with its head office in Sacramento.
What “a new way” means on your claim
-
02.1
Senior led.
A senior adjuster leads every claim, from the first call to the final settlement. The adjuster who walks your property is the one who negotiates it.
-
02.2
A full team.
Building estimators, inventory specialists, accountants, and licensed public adjusters working in concert. Not a single generalist on their own.
-
02.3
Scoped trade by trade.
Our building estimators write the scope trade by trade and price it to current code. Moisture mapping, testing and structural review come in where the loss calls for it.
You shouldn’t spend the weeks after a loss arguing line items with the carrier. That part is our job.

We eliminate the fundamental problem with insurance company adjusters: one person representing two sides of a financial negotiation. A public adjuster represents the insured only, and our sole allegiance is to you.
The adjuster your insurer sends works for the insurance company. We start from the carrier’s estimate, measure what it left out, and prove it. California requires every public adjuster contract to say it in print: “We represent the insured only.”

Why clients hire the firm, in Michael Rapport’s own words:
“I’ve stood on both sides of a construction set of plans, as a developer who builds, and as a public adjuster who fights to make policyholders whole. That dual background is the reason clients hire me and Blue Star Adjusters.”

What the Carrier Offered. What We Recovered.
- Los Angeles house fire, full strip out. Offered $38,000. Settled at $276,000.
- Smoke damage. Offered $17,000. Settled for about $1.1 million, after an industrial hygienist proved combustion byproducts in porous materials and doors.
Results reflect specific losses and policies. Past results don’t guarantee a similar outcome.
Not every claim needs us. If the loss is small or the offer is fair, we’ll tell you at the free review.

Questions About Our Public Adjusting Firm in Sacramento
Is Blue Star Adjusters licensed in California?
Yes. Our California firm license is CA DOI License No. 6015234, held by Blue Star Adjusters LLC. You can enter that number in the California Department of Insurance license search and see it yourself.
How do I check a public adjuster’s license?
Use the state regulator’s lookup, not the adjuster’s own website. In California, the Department of Insurance license search takes a license number. Every one of our six firm licenses is in the table above, next to the lookup for its state.
Who will work on my claim?
A senior adjuster leads every claim, from the first call to the final settlement. Building estimators, inventory specialists and accountants work under that adjuster. The adjuster who walks your property is the one who negotiates it.
Do you work for my insurance company?
No. We represent the insured only. The adjuster your insurer sends works for the insurance company. You always have final say on any settlement.
How are you paid?
No upfront cost. We’re paid a percentage of what we recover. In California, our fee can never leave you with less than your insurer had already paid before you hired us. The free review costs nothing.
Can I cancel after I sign?
In California, yes. You can cancel within three business days of signing and receiving the contract, or within five calendar days in a declared catastrophic disaster area.
